Dr. Jana Layton
Dr. Layton was born in Tulsa and raised in Claremore, Oklahoma. She completed her undergraduate degree in biological science at the University of Tulsa in 1994. After spending a summer working on her dad's farm, she decided to merge her love of animals and devotion to science into a career in veterinary medicine. Dr. Layton received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Oklahoma State University in May of 2000.
She initially met Dr. Johnson during the summer of 2003. Dr. Johnson hired Dr. Layton to do relief work at the Tulsa Animal shelter. Working with a high volume of surgeries and under the supervision of Dr. Johnson led her to become very comfortable in her abilities as a veterinarian. Four years later, after working in other hospitals in the Tulsa area, Dr. Layton was given the opportunity to work with Dr. Johnson as an associate veterinarian at Riverbrook Animal Hospital. This eventually led to Dr. Layton purchasing the practice from Dr. Johnson in March of 2009.
Dr. Layton considers it a true gift to have the opportunity to carry on the mission of Riverbrook Animal Hospital. The hospital will continue to strive for providing exceptional care, customer service, and making a positive impact on all the lives the hospital comes in contact with. A commitment to continued education and training for the entire staff so they may provide the best veterinary medicine possible is a vision passed on by Dr. Johnson and embraced by Dr. Layton.
Her pet family consists of two dogs, Ben and Maddie; and three cats, Phoebe, Elliot and Sambino. Aside from her love of animals, Dr. Layton is active in her church and loves to garden, read and knit.

Dr.
Robin Johnson
A passion for animals and an abiding interest in the natural world have
directed Dr. Robin Johnson's life from childhood. In high school, as an
aide in a veterinarian's office, then as a student at OSU Veterinary School
and, finally, as the founder of Riverbrook Animal Hospital, Dr. Johnson
focuses her considerable energies on maintaining the health and happiness
of the community's pet population.
After receiving her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from OSU, Dr. Johnson
began her career at an emergency veterinary clinic in Tucson, Arizona.
Concerned by the lack of such a facility in her hometown, Dr. Johnson
returned to Tulsa to help establish the first emergency veterinary hospital
in the area. She became a founding member of Tulsa's Animal Emergency
Center and managed the facility until the mid-nineties.
Her strong commitment to animal rescue causes fueled Dr. Johnson's desire
to establish her own clinic. Since Riverbrook was established in 1998,
the clinic has served as a temporary safe house and conduit through which
rescued animals have found new homes with loving owners. In the first
two years alone more than 300 animals were placed.
As a practicing veterinarian, Dr. Johnson recognizes the opportunity
she has to inform and instruct pet owners on the latest developments in
preventative health care and techniques in behavior modification and training.
She encourages anyoneparticularly new pet ownersto come to
her with questions or concerns. Dr. Johnson has also written about pet
care issues for area publications.
